"Universe" has joined the moon and sun, Hanwha rookie Jung Woo-ju said, "My dream is to be like Ryu Hyun-jin."

Jung Woo-joo (19), a rookie in the 2025 season, joined the Hanhwa Eagles, creating a meme among Hanwha fans. Jung Woo-joo joined Hanwha, where Kim Kyung-moon (67) and pitcher Lee Tae-yang (35), who are called "Moon managers," to focus on the Hanwha Universe. Fans are saying that expectations are high just by the name of the universe, which encompasses the sun and the moon.

"I just heard (meme-related) stories," said Jung Woo-joo, who met Hanwha at Ballpark in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday. "That means our fans have high expectations. I will do my best to meet their expectations." 바카라사이트

He has high expectations for his capability as well as his name. Jung Woo-joo joined the Hanwha Eagles as the second fastest pitcher in the 2025 season. His fastball, which boasts a maximum speed of 156 kilometers per hour, was considered the best among rookie pitchers this year. Jung Min-hyuk, the head of the Hanwha Scouts team, said at the time of the rookie draft, "Not only the ball is good, but he also has a good mind. He is a pitcher who can secure his position in the first division."

Hanwha is the best team for Jung Woo-joo to grow. This is because there are some of the best pitchers in Korea, including Ryu Hyun-jin (38), who was ranked second in the U.S. Major League Cy Young Award (2019 National League), and Moon Dong-joo (22), who opened the "160km/h era" in the KBO League. Jung Woo-joo, who is training with his seniors in the first-team camp, is growing well listening to their know-how and advice.

Jung Woo-joo said, "I got to know Dong-ju a lot. I talked about baseball for a few hours, and he was a great help to me." Jung said, "When I ask Dong-ju one more question, he will explain more to me. Thank you very much for your kind and detailed information."

I haven't had much conversation with Ryu. To Jung Woo-joo, who said, "I'm not the type to approach first," Ryu is still a difficult senior. Even if Ryu approaches first, he becomes quiet. However, there is something I really want to learn from him. "I want to learn how to throw fast balls without much effort, how to run games and how to throw breaking balls," he said.

What's more curious is the secret of Ryu's entry into the MLB. Jung Woo-joo is dreaming of a future where he can enter the big league like Ryu and return to the Hanwha Eagles as an ace player. "It has been my dream to go to the U.S. since I was young. If I can improve, I want to try," Jung said. "My dream is to succeed in Korea like Hyun-jin, and to build a successful career by showing good performance in the U.S. as well."

Jung is expected to compete with Chung Hyeon-woo (Kium Heroes) for the Rookie of the Year award this year. "I feel competitive with Jung Hyun-woo," Jung said. "I want to get a rookie award, but I have to stay in the first team until then. My priority now is to get in the first team and stay in the first team for a long time," Jung said. "My biggest goal is Hanwha's fall baseball."
